I have successfully arranged to study shakuhachi with Kakizakai sensei. He lives in Chichibu, a town in the foothills two hours
from Tokyo. The pictured trailer belongs to the sensei's father. It will be my home while I'm in Chichibu. Looks very comfotable. There is also a Kyudo dojo just five minutes walk from the sensei's house. The shakuhachi player is Ben Dixon. He studied with Kakizakai sensei and sent me the attached photos of the trailer. Ben says that there is a market garden next door. It looks isolated enough that I can play my flute anytime. Notice the mountains in the background.
There is a large National Park there. I plan on some enjoyable day trekking.
