My First Entry

Hello Friends:
Just preparing for my travels. We'll see how this goes. It may be fun. I should say that the first leg of my journey begins end of March and is to Japan where I intend to stay for six months. I'll be studying Shakuhachi (bamboo vertical flute) and playing Kyudo (Japanese Archery). I began playing the Shakuhachi in earnest last September when I received flute made by David Brown near Melbourne. It's made of Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle. I've only managed to have two lessons here in Australia with Stuart Ransom. I have wanted to return to Japan for some time now. The last time that I had an extended stay was fifteen years ago. Five months in Hokaido playing Kyudo. Very exciting to be returning. Been brushing up on my Japanese!
